All about the Reinette Descardre apple tree
The Reinette Descardre apple tree, also known as the Reinette d’Espagne, is an old heirloom variety obtained and put on the market in 1834 by Mr. Benoit Descardre, nurseryman in Chรชnรฉe. It is known for its large, conical and rounded fruits, as well as for its good sugar-acid balance.
Characteristics of the fruit
The fruit is large in size (75-80 mm), with a homogeneous conical-rounded shape. The epidermis, with a velvety appearance, is washed with orange-red on the sunny side. The flesh is tender and yellowish, offering a good balance between sugar and acidity, with a medium aroma and a medium-crunchy texture.

The Reinette Descardre is an excellent table apple. It is harvested from the second half of September and is ideally eaten from October to November. However, it quickly becomes mealy after this period.
