The Marcona almond tree is an old Spanish variety, very productive and uncommon. Its production is high and its flowering is late for an almond tree. It is distinguished by an early harvest, making it one of the earliest varieties, like the Avijor. This almond tree is also self-fertile, making it much easier to grow.

This variety requires a warm situation and draining, non-suffocating soil. The Marcona almond tree is able to withstand down to -15ยฐC when properly established, making it suitable for various climates.

Botanical Features:
The Marcona almond tree belongs to the Rosaceae family and is native to Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Also known as Prunus amygdalus Lauranne, it produces white to pinkish flowers and has deciduous foliage. Once adult, it can reach a height of 3 to 4 meters.
Flowering and Harvesting:
It flowers in March, depending on the region and the exposure. The harvest months extend from July to September, depending on the region and the method of cultivation. The ideal exposure is in full sun, and it prefers draining soil, even rocky.
