Planting
- Planting period: October to March (frost-free)
- Planting distance: 3 to 4 m between each tree
- Pollination: Not self-fertile, requires a pollinator

- Regular watering, especially in times of drought
- Pruning in late winter (February-March) and thinning in summer
- Adding organic fertilizer in spring
- Good scab resistance, average monitoring for powdery mildew
Harvesting and storage
Melrose apple apples are harvested from the end of September to the beginning of October and can be stored until January or even April if stored in good conditions (cool and dry place). Their excellent shelf life makes them a popular strain for consumption over several months.
