The Early Apple Tree of Wirwignes, also known as Directeur Lesage, is an old heritage variety from the Boulonnais region. It is renowned for regularly and generously producing beautiful summer fruits.
Characteristics of the fruit
The fruit is of medium size (65 mm), with a conical-rounded shape. The epidermis is yellow with a beautiful orange face, streaked with vermilion. The flesh is white, juicy, sweet and very fragrant, offering an excellent taste quality. The fruit is ideally eaten directly from the tree when it is perfectly ripe.
Use of the fruit
The Prรฉcoce de Wirwignes is an excellent knife apple. It is harvested in the first half of August and best eaten in August.

The tree has low vigour and adapts very well to MM106 rootstock, but is too weak to M9.
