Description

Lidi Vine

The Lidi vine is an exceptional Hungarian variety, particularly prized by gardeners and winemakers in the North of France, Belgium, Switzerland and mountainous regions. This hybrid interspecific variety is distinguished by its remarkable earliness , which makes it possible to compensate for colder climates.

Still not very present in France but widely cultivated in Eastern Europe, particularly in Italy and Slovenia, the Lidi has become a reference for organic gardeners and permaculture enthusiasts who wish to cultivate without phytosanitary or chemical products.

Characteristics of the Lidi Vine

🍇 Fruit and production

Lidi produces large bunches weighing an average of 400 grams, with oval-shaped grapes that are pink in color. This variety is distinguished by its generous size, unlike other early grape varieties with more modest bunches.

🎯 Exceptional taste qualities

Lidi grapes are renowned for their high sugar content and intense flavour. With a refreshing and juicy muscat taste, accompanied by a beautiful muscat aroma, they offer a remarkable taste experience that particularly pleases with the beautiful color and shape of their beans.

⏰ Exceptional precocity

With a maturity period of only 115 to 120 days, Lidi allows its bunches to be harvested well before other varieties, offering the possibility of staggering harvests throughout the summer.

Climate resilience and adaptation

❄️ Remarkable cold resistance

The main advantage of the Lidi is its exceptional resistance to the winter cold. This unique property allows it to be grown at altitude without any problems, making it a preferred choice for cold and mountain regions.

🛡️ Natural resistance to diseases

The Lidi vine has a remarkable resistance to the main vine diseases:

  • 🦠 Powdery mildew : strong natural resistance
  • 🍄 Downy mildew : excellent tolerance
  • 🐛 Phylloxera : resistance by hybridization
  • 🌧️ Fungal diseases : natural protection

🏔️ Perfect adaptation to altitude

Particularly adapted to cold and mountain regions, the Lidi adapts remarkably well to all types of soil. This exceptional versatility makes it a preferred choice for challenging geographies.

Cultivation and maintenance

🌱 Planting and soil

The Lidi adapts easily to all types of soils, demonstrating remarkable versatility. This adaptability makes it a particularly interesting strain for difficult terrain or challenging growing conditions.

⚡ Growth and development

This vigorous variety with a vertical habit is characterized by:

  • 🌿 Erect port : controlled vertical growth
  • ⏰ Earliness : harvest from the second half of August
  • 🍂 Decorative foliage : reddish colour in autumn
  • 🏗️ Self-fertile : no pollinator needed

🌿 Ideal organic cultivation

Lidi is particularly popular with organic and permaculture gardeners thanks to its natural resistance that eliminates the need for phytosanitary or chemical products.

Use and tasting

🍽️ Premium Table Grape

This pink grape is mainly eaten fresh once the bunch has been well washed. You can feast on eating the grapes directly, as their high sugar content and juicy texture provide an exceptional taste experience.

🎨 Decorative Use

These grapes can also bring color and originality to your fruit salads, thanks to their beautiful pink color and distinctive oval shape.

Harvest period

The harvest takes place during the second half of August. Although relatively late in its final ripening period, this variety effectively escapes late frosts thanks to its early development.

This characteristic allows gardeners in cold climates to obtain a good harvest of quality grapes, perfectly compensating for less favorable climatic conditions.

Benefits of Lidi Vine

  • ❄️ Exceptional cold resistance : can be grown at high altitudes
  • 🛡️ Disease resistance : powdery mildew, mildew, phylloxera
  • ⏰ Remarkable earliness : harvest before other varieties
  • 🍯 Very sweet : high in natural sugar
  • 🌿 Organic farming : no chemical treatment required
  • 🏔️ Mountain : perfect for difficult regions
  • 📏 Large bunches : 400g on average, profitability
  • 🌍 Versatility for soils : adapts to all terrains
  • 🍂 Decorative : Autumn reddish foliage

Preferred growing areas

The Lidi is particularly recommended for:

  • 🇫🇷 Northern France : climate compensation
  • 🇧🇪 Belgium : continental climate adaptation
  • 🇨🇭 Switzerland : altitude resistance
  • 🏔️ Mountainous regions : tolerance for difficult conditions
  • 🌡️ Cold zones : compensatory precocity

Why choose Lidi?

This Hungarian variety perfectly combines exceptional resistance, remarkable earliness and premium taste quality, offering a perfect solution for difficult growing conditions where other varieties would fail.
