Description
Peach Yellow vine peach
The Yellow Peach is an old peasant variety, historically planted on the edge of the vine for its earliness and its susceptibility to fungal diseases. Its fruit with a velvety orange-yellow skin contains yellow, juicy and intensely fragrant flesh. It seduces with its sweet-tart taste, ideal on the palate or in processing.
Fruit characteristics
Of medium size, the yellow vine peach has a melting and not very fibrous flesh, adhering to the stone. Its slightly downy skin is marked with yellow hues sometimes tending towards red on the sunny side. It is harvested at full maturity in September, to be enjoyed quickly.
Cultivation and maintenance
A vigorous and productive tree, this peach tree adapts to most well-drained, rich and deep soils. It tolerates temperate climates well. Its late flowering in April limits the risk of spring frosts.
Self-fertile, it does not require a pollinator, but benefits from a gentle annual pruning at the end of winter to balance the branches and promote fruiting.
