The Roussanne Royale peach tree is an exceptional old variety from the Landes 🍑. This noble peach is distinguished by its orange-yellow, juicy and melting flesh, offering an incomparable taste experience. A fruit of the fruit heritage of the South-West, Roussanne Royale seduces with its intense fragrance and natural sweetness which make it one of the best yellow-fleshed peaches in our regions.
The medium to large fruits have a beautiful yellow-orange colour spotted with purple-red when insolated ☀️. The flesh, a beautiful orange-yellow with red veins near the pit, is particularly tender and juicy. With a high sugar level (≥ 12°Brix) and a balanced hint of acidity, this peach offers a sweet and very fragrant flavour that delights the most demanding palates.
Roussanne Royale is a vigorous and moderately productive tree, perfectly adapted to the climates of the South-West. Its pink bell-flowering occurs around mid-March, offering a remarkable 🌸 spring spectacle. Although self-fertile, combining several varieties of peach trees such as the Amsden Peach or the Grosse Mignonne significantly improves production.

This hardy variety has moderate resistance to the main peach tree diseases. It is moderately susceptible to blister and not very sensitive to monilia, making it a wise choice for a crop with few treatments. A preventive treatment with Bordeaux mixture at the end of winter is usually enough to keep the tree healthy 🌿.

To successfully grow your Roussanne Royale, plant preferably between November and March outside of frost periods. Choose a sunny location that is sheltered from cold winds. Adding mature compost to the plantation promotes a good recovery. In the first few years, remove the fruit to allow the tree to establish itself. For better fruiting, you can also plant the Queen Orchard Peach tree nearby.
