The Golden Reinette (or “Golden Reinette”) is an old variety native to the South-West (Lot-et-Garonne, Gironde) cultivated since the eighteenth century:contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}. It produces pretty little straw yellow apples, very fragrant and sweet, traditionally used for tourtières:contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}.
The fruits, of medium size, are globular and sometimes slightly ribbed or mottled with pink when insolated:contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}. The flesh is fine, juicy, white and very sweet with an intense fragrance :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}.
