Discover the Sirora pistachio tree, a vigorous female variety native to Australia, ideal for producing quality pistachios. With its flowering in April and its often open fruits, Sirora is perfect for amateurs and professionals in pistachio cultivation.
The pistachio Sirora is an open-pollinated variety of ‘Red Aleppo’ from Australia. It is renowned for its strong vigour and ability to produce medium to large fruits, with an excellent percentage of open pistachios, making them easier to harvest and eat. This variety is pollinated by male trees such as ‘Randy’ and ‘Peters’, ensuring good fruiting.
For optimal production, plant the Sirora pistachio tree in a sunny location with well-drained soil. The tree requires regular irrigation at the beginning to establish itself and a supply of fertilizers rich in potash and magnesium to promote fruit production.
The Sirora pistachio tree is prized for its robustness and ability to produce high-quality fruit. Its late flowering prevents damage caused by spring frosts, thus ensuring a bountiful harvest. Sirora pistachios are ideal for direct consumption or for culinary use.
